CPF Ordinary Wage Ceiling to Rise to $8,000 in 2026

Starting 1 January 2026, Singapore’s CPF Ordinary Wage (OW) ceiling will increase from $7,400 to $8,000 per month.

In simple terms, the OW ceiling is the maximum portion of your monthly salary that attracts CPF contributions. Any ordinary wages earned above this amount in a calendar month will not be subject to CPF contributions.

A Gradual Adjustment Since 2023

This upcoming revision marks the final step in a series of planned increases that began in September 2023. The changes were introduced progressively to help employers and employees adjust smoothly, rather than facing a sudden jump.

Here’s how the CPF OW ceiling has evolved:

PeriodCPF OW CeilingCPF Annual Salary Ceiling
1 Jan 2016 – 31 Aug 2023$6,000$102,000
1 Sep – 31 Dec 2023$6,300 (+$300)$102,000
1 Jan – 31 Dec 2024$6,800 (+$500)$102,000
1 Jan – 31 Dec 2025$7,400 (+$600)$102,000
From 1 Jan 2026$8,000 (+$600)$102,000

What’s Staying the Same?

While the monthly ceiling is going up, several key limits remain unchanged:

  1. The CPF Annual Salary Ceiling stays at $102,000. This is the maximum total salary amount in a year that can attract CPF contributions, including both Ordinary Wages and Additional Wages.
  2. The Additional Wage (AW) ceiling remains calculated as: $102,000 minus the total Ordinary Wages subject to CPF for the year.
  3. The CPF Annual Limit continues to be capped at $37,740.

With this final adjustment in 2026, the Government aims to keep CPF contribution limits aligned with Singapore’s rising wage levels, while giving businesses and employees time to adapt.
